Was awarded today to my "Homebase" Schiphol by the F-WWDD of Airbus Industries, the MSN 004 or also named Airbus 380-800
Of course I had to work and we had a release, so I saw my things already go over the day, luckily the release went relatively smooth and with no disruppption, so that I could have afforded to go to Schiphol myself after my wife and son (need word for such goodness) have tried to get the "Whale Jet" in the morning from the Panorama Terrace, which was fully cramped.
Luckily I made it to the departure of this monster on time, the 2nd time for Jr. Vogt to go to the airport today, but he was not really sad about it.
I have more shots, but will need to take me some time to postprocess them in the next days, so these are my two currently best shots, Good-Bye "Whale Jet" hope to see you regularly soon!

As Jennifer had to work this Sunday afternoon, I packed myself and Jan-Luca, his bike, my camera and my mobile and laptop not only to watch airplanes, it was also time for the Germany match vs England, at the Polderbaan Spotting location we finally met some more Germans and so we ended up in watching the internet stream via my 3G mobile on my cars roof besides Airplane Spotting.

The aircraft was enroute from Singapore, SIN to London Heathrow, LHR as BA16.
The aircraft was over Germany when crew decided to divert to Amsterdam following multiple technical problems which the crew could not pinpoint to.The crew also reported the aircraft was low on fuel and requested a longer than usual final approach in order to configure the aircraft for the touch down.
The aircraft safely landed and upon inspection it was found that the right hand Trent 895 engine had suffered substantial damage. Both engines had however produced thrust till the aircraft landed albeit with higher than regular fuel burn rates. The aircraft is currently at Amsterdam.'

First pictures can bee seen on Bild.de:

this looks desatrous, how could this have happened short before the landing, it is reported that no fire broke out, but this damage is incredible, the whole fuselage is being blown in pieces...perhaps some terroris background?
UPDATE 12-05-2010, 1206 CEST:
The BBC has published a video directly from the crash site, which shows that the aircraft has desintegrated completely, it must have been some kind of high speed impact.
UPDATE 12-05-2010 1521 CEST:
It has been evidently reported that the only survivor is a 9 year old dutch boy, he has survived and is currently operated in a hospital in Tripoli, he has lost his sisters, brother and parents in the airplane which should have taken them home from a group vacation:
De Telegraaf
can be found on a column of the british newspaper Telegraph, this is so damn true that I would not believe it if it woudl not be about Ryanair....
The easter weekend unfortunately was more than rainy, but we anyway went out to the airport to take some pictures over the easter weekend. Motivated by some well known spotter colleagues which have come to Amsterdam for their traditional easter spotting, we finally had so many tries, but did not make it to a meeting, perhaps next time better luck for all of us...
