Lynx Aviation to cease operations in autumn 2010

The former subsidiary of Frontier Airlines, Lynx Aviation is going to cease operations latest in autumn 2010.

This has been released by the mother company of Frontier Airlines and Lynx Aviation, Republic Airways Holding.

Lynx Aviation will cease operations in a planned and regular phase out of their operations until end of September.

Republic Aiways names, that the current fleet of 10 Bombardier Dash8-Q400 will not be able to operate profitable in the longer term, an announced in a press release of Republic Airways Holding.

The phase out will start in April with the retirement of the first 6 Q400 airplanes and will finish latest September 2010.All routes currently operated by Lynx Aviation will be overtaken by Republic Airways, which then plans to Operat Embraer 190 and Embrear 170 jets on these routes.

About 175 people will loose their jobs, but most of them will be offered new position within Republic Airways or Frontier Airlines.
